Naming of the Fighter Pilots' Airplanes

"Scatterbain", "Angel From Hell" and "Roberta" were just a few of the names given to the planes of the 354th Fighter Group. "Live Bait" was flown by Clayton Kelly Gross. Later in the war his plane was passed on to Robert Ramer. Ramer renamed it "Ensign Babs"later in the war. Go to my September 15, 2007 post to see how this sequence turned out.
