Over 56,000 views
I just realized that one of our videos on youtube has over 56,000 views!!
I am so glad I ran into your blog during my search for information on the 355th WWII Fighter Squadron. My Great Uncle Daniel L. Richards was a Flight Officer with the 355th and unfortunately died about 2 weeks after D-Day. From the stories I heard from my Grandma (Daniel's Sister), he was shot down coming back to his base in Criqueville, France by friendlies. Apparently he would have lived if he would have jumped sooner but his chute didn't open and he perished. I will have to look at some of your footage to see if any of the men you interviewed spoke of him at all. My Dad and I were fortunate enough to have visited his grave in Normandy in 2001, but there are so many missing pieces to his story that I am trying to find; therfore if you come across anything, please let me know. I think what you are doing is a great tribute to the lost and to the survivors of WWII! Thanks! Patricia
