Fighter Pilot Shot Down Behind Enemy Lines in France in August 1944 during WWII



1st Lt. Charles Simonson was shot down behind enemy lines near Crulai, France in August 1944. He was saved by a group of Frenchmen who were part of the resistance.They hid him from the Germans until the US Army arrived. Fighter pilot Simonson and Etienne Cuho, one of the men who saved him, are interviewed. Thanks to Crulai Mayor Joel Buffard and Brigitte Briand !
